What's fun about stop motion is anyone with an iPhone and an idea can make something come to life in a magical way. There is so much fun content out there that we are constantly consuming! Of course, when we shoot stop motion, we strive to make it the best it can be and we have a lot of fun tools to help us achieve special looks.
Motion control rigs can really make a scene stand out from other content. We use a wide range of robotics and computerized controllers to program rigs to move frame by frame in a stop motion format. This allows us to get interesting camera moves instead of just a locked off shot from a tripod.

You notice a camera track and pan as the marshmallow jumps on to the crack. It's a subtle move but offers a lot to the shot. The ability to repeat this same camera move over and over very precisely allows us to make multiple passes and remove rigging or clean up anything in the shot that should not be in the final video. 

This past week we had the opportunity to work with our friends over at TreadLight and their client TempTraq. TempTraq is a tech/health company that created a thermometer patch for children that allows you to monitor their fever from your smartphone. We helped them produce this stop motion ad for their $9.99 sale going on this month. Enjoy this quick and fun little animation. It was a blast to create! 

Last month, Katy and I spent a few weeks in the Italian Alps and did some skiing, exploring, and some video projects. I've never seen such beautiful mountains like the Dolomites. It was 360º of dramatic views and winter landscapes like I could never imagine. Wow. Enjoy this fun look into this treasure of a place. This world is so so beautiful!!!

Summer in Capo Vaticano, Calabria is incredible. I believe the beaches are some of the best in the world, with crystal clear water, steep majestic cliffs, Aeolian Islands in each sunset, and a whole lot of water sports.
